The Bachido Store
The main problem that keeps people from playing shamisen is... well, they don’t have a shamisen! Finding one outside of Japan can be difficult, but here at Bachido, you can get your own high quality shamisen (and any accessories you may need) shipped direct from Japan.
Instruction
Perhaps you have a shamisen, but don't know where to begin? Try out the free Shamisen Crash Course in Learning Center. It teaches you everything you need to begin playing tsugaru shamisen.
Learning shamisen pieces from notation is difficult without listening to the song first. Thus, we offer audio recordings from the pieces in the book Shamisen of Japan to make learning pieces easier.
A Growing Community
Interest in shamisen is constantly growing, but most shamisen enthusiasts have no idea that there is someone in their area who likes shamisen as well. At Bachido, you can safely and easily connect with other shamisen enthusiasts in your area and around the world! There are many experienced players and novices alike on the forum, who are happy to share their knowledge and what they are learning.
