Important note: Previously we had accidentally shipped the dou (soundbox) with a larger sao. Not knowing they were mismatched, the customer innocently used their strength to jam the sao into the dou, cracking the wood of the bottom board (with the round hole). Needless to say, we sent them a replacement shamisen, and I repaired the dou in California.
This crack is fully viewable on the last picture, so please consider it in your purchasing decision. Also, please note that the crack 100% fixed as it is fully filled and sealed with industrial strength super glue (it looks clear due to high polishing). With that said, the round hole has slightly widened, and you might want to wrap some paper around the sao spike (nakagosaki) to prevent it from wiggling. With all that said, the price has lowered to reflect this.
