Explore traditional Japanese music with this beautiful Kouta Shamisen, in a nice Karin wood Sao and Tenjin. The wood is stained and almost fooled us into thinking it was shitan or kouki wood, but the wood pores suggest it’s karin.

The Dou is skinned with durable Hibiki synthetic skin in traditional white, providing consistent tension and resonant sound ideal for both practice and performance.
The thin neck (Hosozao) profile caters to a range of traditional playing techniques and genres.

This Shamisen is in good condition. During life of this shamisen, it appears someone had tried to “resparkle” the instrument with a poorly applied coat of polyurethane. Parts of the sao are extra shiny and other parts are dull, (shown in photos) and there are some drips on the tenjin. While the wood itself is gorgeous, the price as been lowered to reflect the “aftermarket paint job”. The accessories kit included is second hand, which helps to increase the discount.

Included is a refurbished Bachi, ebony Itomaki tuning pegs, Doukake protector, Yubikake finger sleeve, complete Ito string set, Dou Gomu protective pad, Neo, Koma, Fujaku Strip and a Naga Fukuro storage bag.
