Ironically, although the plastic bachi is the most affordable bachi available, it isn’t the easiest for beginners due to it’s extreme hardness. That being said, it is usable and better than nothing!

Recommended only for trying shamisen with little investment, or if you need an ice scraper. Unfortunately, it is difficult to use and can make the shamisen experience less enjoyable. If you can afford it, a wooden bachi is more flexible and easier to use.
