The fingerboard includes a Tenjin Extension, which is a strip of wood which can be glued onto the tenjin before the shaping process. Both fingerboard and extension are sealed with shellac. Unlike the Pua Rosa fingerboards, these Rosewood fingerboards have ample margin, which means you don't need to be as careful about perfectly centered placement when gluing. Even if you're off center by a millimeter or two, you will still have amazing results after final shaping. -

I must admit, this is my absolute favorite koma. It’s…I must admit, this is my absolute favorite koma. It’s both great sounding and a gorgeous work of art. This koma is made from susudake (soot bamboo) and half bone top is expertly carved with three waves (or some might see fangs) curving downward. All of the bamboo/wood koma on Bachido sound great, but I particularly like this one for both it’s style and sound! Scroll below for sound test video! -

Important note: Previously we had accidentally shipped the dou (soundbox)…Important note: Previously we had accidentally shipped the dou (soundbox) with a larger sao. Not knowing they were mismatched, the customer innocently used their strength to jam the sao into the dou, cracking the wood of the bottom board (with the round hole). Needless to say, we sent them a replacement shamisen, and I repaired the dou in California. This crack is fully viewable on the last picture, so please consider it in your purchasing decision. Also, please note that the crack 100% fixed as it is fully filled and sealed with industrial strength super glue (it looks clear due to high polishing). With that said, the round hole has slightly widened, and you might want to wrap some paper around the sao spike (nakagosaki) to prevent it from wiggling.
