Cases and Fukuro

Fukuro

The fukuro is a high quality cloth bag which keeps your shamisen clean and free of dust. It looks very stylish as well. After all, even instruments need robes!

This fukuro is made of rice paper. Like a traditional desiccant, it absorbs moisture and thus is put over the dou in order to absorb moisture from the natural skin. (Not required for synthetic skin)

The Mitsuori Case has a soft, padded interior with a sleek nylon exterior (like the Pack Case). Lid of Mitsuori Case has a special compartment for the bachi, and a side pouch for strings and yubikake. Straps connect on the backside for carrying on your back. If you don’t need to carry it on your back, the straps can conveniently slip into a zip-up pouch (shown in pictures).

This is one of my favorite types of cases to use when I travel locally, whether it be walking or driving to a gig, or taking the bus to San Jose to lead my group shamisen class. It is so light and easy to carry on my back, and offers just enough foam protection where I can feel at ease if it gets lightly bumped.

Made with high quality Kimono fabric, these Bachi Fukuro are hand made with generous padding. With this fukuro, your bachi will be safely bundled and protected from a small fall! (Note, the main protection is around the handle and end of the blade, thus the blade might still chip if it falls directly on the blade tip)

One of the best cases for shamisen, in my opinion. Lightweight with a Semihard foam-lined shell, and backpack straps for easy schlepping!

These beautiful hand-crafted Naga Fukuro are lovingly sewn with high quality kimono fabric. There is only enough fabric for one Naga Fukuro, so each of these products are entirely unique and one-of-a-kind. Locally crafted in Sapporo, Japan!

This fukuro intended for storing a shamisen which has been disassembled. It's pretty cool and I used to use it all the time, but it's not necessary if you're already storing the disassembling shamisen in a case.

This case is designed to hold a shamisen with a fully disassembled sao. The interior is more minimalistic compared to the Soft Shell Mitsuori Case. (Less interior foam, but relatively more space to fill with miscellaneous items.)
