Zagane (also called Fukurin) are the metal fittings attached to the itomaki holes. The idea is that the metal of the Zagane prevents the wood from wearing down. More importantly though, they look cool! Note: These Zagane require a reamer with a 7 degree taper for a perfect fit. It's possible to use other reamers (like cello reamers for example), but you might have to fill in gaps with wood filler. I highly recommend the Hozan K-441 Reamer.

This fukuro intended for storing a shamisen which has been disassembled. It's pretty cool and I used to use it all the time, but it's not necessary if you're already storing the disassembling shamisen in a case.

Add a super cool Laotian Birdseye Rosewood fingerboard to your Shamisen DIY Kit! The fingerboard includes a Tenjin Extension, which is a strip of wood which can be glued onto the tenjin before the shaping process. Both fingerboard and extension are sealed with shellac. Unlike the Pua Rosa fingerboards, these Rosewood fingerboards have ample margin, which means you don't need to be as careful about perfectly centered placement when gluing. Even if you're off center by a millimeter or two, you will still have amazing results after final shaping.
